My creative works started in my childhood, when I took long sea journeys with my mother to and from England and visited lands that I could only imagine, and they've continued to develop as memory-maps that also trace the parameters of global environmental anxiety. Visions informed by large spaces of land and water, and the infinity of the night sky are of particular interest and were formed during this time.
Our featured artist for June is a Tasmanian born artist now residing in Brisbane. Meredith specialises in drawing, intaglio etching and artist books. Our featured artist for May Renata Buziak is a biochrome photo-media artist, researcher, and educator, who helps people to reconnect with nature. Renata holds a PhD from Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, and her work is in private and public collections.
Our featured artist for April, Sona Babajanyan works across many divergent media, from painting, drawing and digital media to fiction writing. Sona is one of Plexus Gallery's founders and although she has stepped back from the organisational reigns, still has a great deal of input and involvement with it.
We'll start our featured artist posts with one of our gallery founders, Billy Shannon as it is his continued vision which is shaping Plexus Gallery now.
