To create Connection with Memories, Dianne (Clear Mountain), Renata Buziak uses an experimental photographic process that she developed and called the biochrome. This process fuses plant samples and photographic emulsions over a period of time, allowing organic decomposition to transform both materials into new, abstract, yet often accurately depicted, images of plants.

“My garden’s very important. I don’t think I could live anywhere that I couldn’t put my hands in soil. I always thought if I had to move somewhere where there was no garden I’d at least have to have a pot of it that I could stick my hands in to. I’d still have to have some boxes of dirt!
